ABM UK was awarded the National Silver Green Apple Award for their management of Victoria Gate in Leeds, which included energy and waste reduction initiatives and the creation of a insect and pollinator friendly ecosystem habitat around the Victoria Gate Guardian Sign.

Driving action on climate change
ABM believes in advancing a healthier, more sustainable world. We’re committed to the Science-Based Target Initiative (SBTI) and are establishing a Sustainability Council to ensure we’re meeting milestones on our GHG Reduction Roadmap.
GHG emissions reduction target aligned with SBTI’s Absolute Contraction Approach (ACA) Method (WB2C).
We plan to reduce our direct, indirect and business travel emissions by 27.5% by 2030.
We’re updating and providing more transparency for our GHG Reduction Roadmap per the 1.5 degrees pathway.
Strengthening our reporting process
We’ve implemented the Salesforce Net Zero Cloud environmental reporting system to improve the transparency and accuracy of our environmental data and increase the scope of reporting.
Procuring renewable energy
We launched a program to centralize our procurement operations. This effort aims to leverage data-driven insights to enhance flexibility and efficiency while promoting our commitment to green, diverse spending in alignment with our sustainability goals—and those of our clients.
Leveraging collaborative opportunities
We’re introducing an ABM Sustainability Council to oversee opportunities among departments to reduce our environmental footprint, implement sustainability initiatives, and enhance our sustainable offerings.
Powering progress
In its first year as an ABM company, RavenVolt successfully carried out 118 microgrid projects across the U.S., positioning us for future growth in the expanding microgrid sector.
Electric transportation
We initiated a pilot of electric vehicles (EV) to be deployed throughout the US and UK and have tasked our Sustainability Council to draft a roadmap and commitment to additional vehicle electrification for the coming years. We also completed a trial of driver behavior telematics systems to reduce fuel consumption.
Maintaining environmental management system certifications
We continue to retain ISO50001 (UK) Energy Management ISO to incorporate corporate communications and energy saving projects across our office estate and fleet emissions.

Practicing sound governance
ABM’s governance structure provides a framework to serve all stakeholders, including team members, clients, suppliers, investors, and communities with integrity.
ABM Code of Business Conduct (COBC)
Shared with ABM team members at time of hire, our COBC guides how we do business and is an important reflection of how we operate as a lawful, fair and ethical organisation and responsible corporate citizen. All ABM team members are empowered to report any violations of the COBC or applicable law, and are provided with various channels to do so.
ABM Compliance Hotline
One reporting channel ABM team members can use for reporting violations or concerns is the ABM Compliance Hotline, which is accessible by phone or website, administered by a third party, and always available. The hotline can take reports in more than 100 languages and accept reports anonymously. The COBC also clearly states ABM’s policy that there will be no retaliation against whistleblowers.
Anti-corruption
ABM supports reporting of any potential corruption and bribery violations and provides various methods to report both directly or confidentially. Team members are encouraged and instructed to use any of our reporting mechanisms if they encounter or witness any type of inappropriate behavior or have any concerns. In addition, we:
- Perform periodic risk assessments and audits to identify potential corruption or bribery risks.
- Provide mandatory, bi-annual anti-bribery and anti-corruption (ABAC) training.
- Provide COBC training in reference to anti-corruption requirements for all team members.
- Provide custom gift and entertainment training to our sales organisation and customer-facing operators during onboarding.
- Revised our due diligence process to include high-level risk assessment to combat corruption and bribery by third parties.
As of 2021, no allegation had been made against ABM about corruption, and no confirmed incidents under any applicable corruption laws had been reported. Additionally, there were no legal actions against ABM for anticompetitive behavior, anti-trust or monopoly practices.
In 2023, ABM achieved a 96% companywide completion rate for Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption training.

ABM has a written policy against harassment in the workplace, which is included in the National Team Member Handbook, our COBC and in our new hire package.
In 2024, 98.6% of ABM team members earned certification in our Code of Business Conduct.
Human Rights Statement
ABM follows all international labour and immigration laws that apply to us and does not tolerate the use of child labour; any acts of modern slavery; human trafficking; or other illegal, abusive or forced labour practices. This includes compliance with internationally recognised laws and regulations in all locations where we operate, regardless of local business customs. ABM’s U.K. & Ireland businesses maintains a Modern Slavery Act Statement wherein ABM states its support of the Modern Slavery Act of 2015. The company considers its team members as critical to its success and it is committed to operating free from forced labour, slavery and human trafficking.

Further, it’s ABM’s standard practice to repurpose equipment when and where appropriate based on condition and contractual arrangements. We constantly aim to reuse and repurpose equipment in the most efficient, safe, and effective manner possible.
